Social Saturdays:

Building Connections, One Club at a Time

Welcome to Social Saturdays at The Behavior Blueprint!

At The Behavior Blueprint, we understand the importance of social skill development in children with autism and other developmental challenges. That’s why we’re excited to offer Social Saturdays, a unique in-clinic program designed to help children build meaningful connections through engaging, and structured skill-based social groups.

What Are Social Saturdays?

Social Saturdays are dedicated to fostering social interaction, communication, and friendship in a fun and supportive environment. Our carefully designed social clubs provide children with the opportunity to practice and enhance their social skills while participating in activities that align with their interests.

Our social skills groups help enhance peer relationships through meaningful social interactions. Led by a trained professional and supported by clinical trainees, these small structured groups teach vital social skills for confidence and success. Children who struggle with making and maintaining friendships, impulse control, or emotional regulation can benefit.

What does a skill-based social group look like?

Our skill-based social groups are designed to help children develop essential skills for their daily and social lives. These groups blend theoretical and practical learning, offering fresh lessons each week. While many of our groups focus on teaching social skills, we have a variety of groups that offer skill-development in areas such as: life skills, mindfulness, overcoming obstacles, and more.

Each session begins with about 10 minutes of leisure activities, allowing participants to play, explore, and interact with peers in a supportive environment. This helps them build new connections and engage with a variety of toys and activities. After this, the group reviews the lesson from the previous week and/or an instruction of the day's lesson. Participants may then break into smaller groups for detailed discussion and learning, depending on the group size. The skills are practiced in a larger group setting through interactive activities like role-playing, structured games, and team-building exercises. Sessions usually conclude with more leisure activities, giving children the opportunity to apply and solidify their new skills in a relaxed, natural setting.

Our leisure-based social groups are designed to designed for children to meet in a welcoming environment to meet peers, explore areas of interest and develop meaningful connections, all while engaging in preferred activities such as art, cooking, music, board games, trivia, charades, and so much more!
